Dr. Gallivan has practiced in the Harrisburg region since 1996. Before joining Emma's Center in June of 2006, Dr. Gallivan worked in a large practice as the primary treating physician, treating patients ranging from one week to one hundred years old. Seeing the frustrations of patients being treated as numbers based on insurance policies, Dr. Gallivan joined with Emma to serve patients based on their true health needs. Dr. Gallivan's vision for the health center is not only dealing with the patient's immediate needs, but also where patients can come and learn what being and staying healthy actually means. Since joining Emma's Center, he has seen how natural healthcare including bodywork, chiropractic, homeopathic medicine and whole food nutritional supplementation can have a dramatic effect on a person's physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Dr. Gallivan graduated from New York Chiropractic in 1996. His focus outside of chiropractic turned toward nutrition. He realized what goes into our bodies is a huge part of our overall health make-up. He has taken numerous post-graduate courses on nutrition and supplementation and has now moved into the field of homeopathic medicines to complement his chiropractic services. Dr. Gallivan has also taken post graduate courses ranging from the field of sports injury management to treating automobile accident patients. Before going to chiropractic school, Dr. Gallivan graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. He worked at numerous internships including former Governor of New York, Mario Cuomo. Dr. Gallivan soon realized his true calling was in the health care field and moved on to his new path. Dr. Gallivan's practice is primarily a cash based practice but also accepts auto accident cases. Dr. Gallivan offers a no-charge initial consultation. If Dr. Gallivan feels he can help, treatment options will be discussed. If he feels the case would be better served by another practitioner, the appropriate referral will be made immediately.
